India Tour : January-February 2013 (3-week)
The AgTour will be escorted by an experienced local guide and is well balanced with the glimpses of agriculture and culture of India. The tour is comprised of visits to farms, agricultural institutions and major tourist destinations covering the Asian sub-continent from North to South. The following is the detailed tour program:
January-February, 2013: From Calgary/Edmonton via London/ Frankfurt.
|Day 1 & 2||Arrive at IGI Airport, New Delhi in the evening and relocate to accommodation. Night stay in New Delhi. Visit to Ag Institutes and local tourist attractions including Red Fort, India Gate, Lotus temple, and night stay in New Delhi.|
|Day 3 & 4||Departure to Ludhiana/ Chandigarh in Punjab by train. Stopover in a farm near Ludhiana, Punjab. Visit to local farms and tourists destinations.|
|Day 5 & 6||Royal Rajasthan. Departure to culturally rich Jaipur city by an overnight train. Trip to local tourists’ destination Two-night stay.|
|Day 7||Visit to Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and other local attractions; and night stay in Agra.|
|Day 8||Departure to Varanasi. Glimpses of old Hindu and Buddhist religious places along the Ganges river and city tour. Trip to Sarnath, the birth place of Buddhism. Overnight train to Jabalpur.||image here|
|Day 9,10 & 11||Visit to Bandhavgarh/ Kanha National Park (a tiger reserve). Visit to Ag institute and local farm followed by trip to Marble Canyon of Narmada river and other local tourists’ attractions. Night Stay in Jabalpur.||image here|
|Day 12 & 13||Morning flight to Goa, an old Portuguese colony and mosaic of culture. Visit to local scenic beach paradise & spice plantation.||image here|
|Day 14 & 15||Cochin Backwaters– Boat ride through the stunningly beautiful and calm natural waterways. Amazing one night stay in a houseboat.||image here|
|Day 16 & 17||Train to Coimbatore and followed by taxi trip to Ooty. Tour to Nilgiris Hills destinations and night stay in Ooty. Visit to tea garden and processing facility.||image here|
|Day 18||Early morning departure to Mysore palace. Visit to other Mysore attractions and night stay.||image here|
|Day 19 & 20||Departure to Bangalore in the evening and night stay in Bangalore. Visit/ Stay at ‘Prashanti’ and one day yoga camp followed by visit to city attractions. Visit to Kunigal Stud near Bangalore.||image here|
|Day 21||Fly back to Canada from Bangalore international airport.||image here|
Add $1500 for single person. The above cost include economy RT airfare, 3-5 star hotel accommodation, meals (B/L/D), local travel by air- economy class, train– First AC or best available class; and taxies including all transfers and admissions. Other costs (alcoholic drinks, laundry, porter charges, tips etc.) are additional. We provide a courtesy mobile phone with international calling facility and wireless internet on the go. The above trip cost includes tour guide’s expenses. You are responsible for your travel and health insurances.
Option to book your own flights (less $1500 from the above price, if you book your own ticket).
We will provide you detailed travel itinerary, map and mode of transportation at the time of registration. We also offer flexibility to add additional destinations before or after the scheduled tour.
Group size 8-10. You can register and secure your place by depositing $500. The balance can be paid by July 30th. References from previous participants available on request.
